Strengthening the Church
Our narrow commitment to strengthening the church means saying no to a lot of good things. Here are some we say yes to.
Christian Education for Christian Families
Perhaps the single greatest need facing world Christianity today is discipleship and an educated clergy in majority world churches. Christian schools are started to address a variety of goals, including outreach. However, Humanitas focuses narrowly on schools that partner with Christian families who want to bring up their children in the fear and paidea of the Lord.
Lofty Goals
Humanitas focuses on Christian education with lofty goals. We hold children in high respect for they are capable of more than is often asked. We believe that, by the mercies of God, children can obtain a deeper level of commitment, understanding, and engagement with the world than is often asked of them. We extend to children the dignity of high expectations. A church full of thoughtful, humble, and creative young people is blessed indeed.
Character formation ahead of skills training
We distinguish between education and training, where training provides skills necessary to get a good job, and education cultivates the mind and character of an individual. Education, in other words, is a form of intellectually and physically rigorous discipleship. We have seen the results of Christianity plus money, without godliness. Humanitas starts schools dedicated to partnering with families and churches for the formation of godly character in students.
